Welcome to NexusNet
NexusNet is
NEXUSNET is an international network of researchers collaborating with universities, research institutions, policymakers and the business sector to better understand how the water-energy-food Nexus fosters policy coherence and biophysical interactions in the domains of water, energy and food, supporting the transition towards a circular and low-carbon economy in Europe. The network focuses on job creation, enhancing wellbeing, establishing broad synergies and care for the environment.
The Nexus concept is tested at different scales (i.e. local, regional, national, European), while the international dimension is explored through the involvement of international proposers. More Nexus-compliant practices are foreseen through knowledge/research sharing hub at European level and beyond. Public-private initiatives pave the path for Nexus compliant practices, building on network members’ advice.
What you can do
Explore and contribute to a growing database of interdisciplinary
research projects focused on the nexus between water, energy, food,
and environmental systems.
Users can submit their own research projects and case studies
through detailed multi-section forms that capture everything
from basic project information to advanced methodologies, stakeholder
engagement approaches, and governance assessments.
The platform features an interactive data exploration dashboard
with 7 different categories of visualizations - from geographic
distribution of studies and research scales to modeling approaches and policy
frameworks - where users can switch between different chart types (bar, pie, doughnut)
to analyze the data from multiple perspectives.
Whether you're a researcher wanting to share your nexus study, a policymaker
seeking insights from existing research, or an academic exploring methodological
approaches across different scales and regions, this platform serves as a comprehensive
hub for nexus research collaboration and knowledge sharing.
